#2: View Listings Together—Remotely

Since visual telephony is a new and unexpected CoViewing experience, first-time callers will have no idea they that can see content during the call. For that, an educational and on-boarding process is critical.

Thankfully, most callers use smart phones, which allows agents to initially text a link into live content, “Would you like to view the listing together? I’ll send you a link.” When texting is unavailable, first-time viewing links can be sent via email.

CoViewing vs. Screen Share

The key distinction between CoViewing and screen-sharing is in how views are shared. We use CoViewing, while Zoom, FaceTime, Webex, and most other webinar services use screen-share.

In CoViewing, both parties access to the same content and simply share navigation. Either viewer may control the screen, with permissions, yet they both experience the same visual display.

Co-viewing works on low bandwidth because the navigation controls require an incidental level of real-time communication. In fact, if you momentarly lose signal, everyone can still view the listing.

In contrast, screen sharing requires broadcast video from one party to the other, so both parties use high bandwidth at all times.
